Parana bridge in Argentina

Location: Bridge in Northern Argentina

Bridge over River: Parana River

Joins the cities: of Rosario and Victoria

Kind of Bridge: Cable-stayed bridge

Purpose of Bridge: To connect the two cities with a road and to improve the connection between the northwestern provinces with the rest of the nation. It also allows more interaction between nearby countries.

Length: The roadway system has a total of 608m. The bridge has a main span of 330m and its lateral spans are 120m long. The bridge is 120m high.

Project completed in: March 2002, 4 years after its construction began in April 1998.

Total cost: 350 million dollars.

Built, maintained and operated by: Puentes del Litoral S.A.

Benefits: increses economic activities, it takes less time to travel from one city to the other, and it benefits the integration of Southamerican countries.
